Get a Life
Riding a Bike April 14/2008
This Weekend my son learned to ride his bike. It was amazing — He was determined no matter what happened he just kept on going. He had decided Sunday was the day he was going to ride his bike on his own. He went around the cul de sac multiple times wiggling and fell a few times! Everytime he fell my heart broke … He would not come in scraped knees and all. After about an hour he was going around the block having a pretty good time… He came in and was so proud of himself– His whole face shining…… It was amazing to see the confidence his accomplishment had instilled in him!!!!!
I have found lately that we are all born with a positive attitude and true determination and as little ones we always beleive we can do anything— Why is it that as we get older instead of embracing our challenges we become cynical and negative about life and the people around us. We let every situation become a road block if not physically then emotionally. This is right? This is wrong? - We become so judgemental and instead of thinking about the positive, always dwell on the negatives of why did this happen to me…I have always tried to remain positive and after this weekend have decided to learn from my son. Life is about taking what you have and making the best shine. If you really want something you have to give it “Your heart and soul”. Not the way we are suppose to as adults or prescribed by society but just do what feels right and good. If your efforts create the result you want you have accomplished your dream and if not you know you gave it everything you got and that is something that not everyone can say. Sometimes it is a lot easier to hide and run from things or ignore them then it is to face them head on. We fester in our problems and let them eat us inside out instead of just meeting them head on and working through them and trying to find the rainbow hidden in every cloud……..I am determined to find all my rainbows because I am sure I have found my pot of gold…I just have to work towards finding the special rainbow that will lead me out of the storm ..:) HAPPY SLIDING!
Roller Coaster Rides April 12/2008
Life is just like a roller coaster ride. Just when you think the ride is about to end or a phase in it something happens to make you see there’s a still a whirl left and a thrill to be attained and all you need to do is reach the top of the hill. I am up for the challenge and the bumpy ride because you know the feeling you get at the end of the roller coaster ride when you know everything you went through but the feeling was so amazing—–I love that feeling and it makes it all worthwhile and I am always ready to jump on again!!!!!
So life bring it on and trust me today I feel like I can take on the magnum at Cedar Point continously for multiple rounds and never let the coaster beat me – It has nothing on me… It’s amazing the difference a new perspective can make :) or even an old one because ” somethings only get better with age”!
Life Lesson April 9/2008
Yesterday I found out about another death within my family. My uncle’s brother had breakfast and went to take a nap and peacefully passed away in his sleep. May he RIP.. He was a pilot for many years and over the last few years had a few health issues. My heart goes out to his immediate family as he was a very kind and witty man.
I feel like life is trying to teach me a lesson.Life is surely precious and our time here is short so we should make the most of everyday. Sometimes because of circumstances that is the hardest thing to do. I guess we have to find a way to make a differnce everyday in someone’s life in a positive way. It does not matter if you can’t change your life — sometimes our lives circumstances can’t change due to reasons beyond our control but we have to make a conscious effort to do something positive for others and hope that eventually the karma will come back to you……
I hope the people that I care about all truly realize how much they mean to me …..
Life is Precious April 5/2008
I recently lost a colleague and afreind about 3 weeks ago today. He lost his short battle with leukemia at the young age of 36. I can honestly say that JR ( John Robinson) was one of the most genuine and nicest person I have ever met. I just wanted to write this so all that read this in the present or future say a little prayer for him.
REST IN PEACE JR – you will be missed…
His death also reminded me to how precious life truly is and that we should never take our moments or the people that we love here on earth for granted…..
So what did life teach me today? — Apr 3/2008
Today’s important lesson brought forth some inspiring realizations:
I saw some amazing art created by children. It included every kind of media imaginable. The kids used water, videos, foil, recyclables, paints, murals and live art. A group of kids actually created changing scenes during the entire time the art gallery was displayed. These were kids aged 5 – 10 so it was amazing to see their ingenuity in action. It reminded me of how beautiful and hopeful we all are in our youth and gave me a real sense of strength. We often forget the importance of creativity in our lives. The need for self expression is inate in us all. It is a natural method of expression and a way of influencing the world we live in and the negativity we come across everyday. Creativity is the exercise of our imagination and our imagination is what allows us to see the future in a brighter light then today and face life with a positive attitude.
I hope you all find time to experience something creative …. it just might open your eyes to a whole new way of looking at your world and help you see something in a brighter light….
